Updating a Building Model Creates Duplicate Component Groups in LINEAR Building
Problem
After updating a building model in LINEAR Building, there is a new, additional Revit component group in the Master tables. The names of this new component group are in a different language than the names of the component group that was created in LINEAR Building when the building model was first imported (e.g. Revit components in addition to Revit components). The components contained in these component groups are identical, except for the designations. Adjustments that were made to the components of the existing component group after the initial detection of components in LINEAR Building, e.g. assignments or changes of U-values, are missing in the components of the new component group.
Cause
The first detection of a building model with LINEAR Building was done with a different output language in Revit than the update of the building model with LINEAR Building. As a result, when the building was updated in LINEAR Building, additional components were created in the master tables in the output language set in Revit.
Solution
You do not need to restart Revit to change the output language. However, changing the interface language requires a restart of the program.
Perform the following steps to remove the additionally created component group, to adjust the Output language in Revit, and newly detect the building model:
Procedure
- In the Master tables, right-click the component group added by the update and select Delete.
- Click Options on the Tab LINEAR of the Revit-Ribbon in the Administration group. The Options dialog opens.
- In the Output language drop-down list, set the same language that was used when the building model was first detected and click OK.
- Click on File in the menu bar of LINEAR Building and select the Update building from CAD menu item. The building data is updated in LINEAR Building.
