Details on the Required Volume Flow Determination According to

Information on the Required volume flow rate determination according to dialog in connection with fresh water and dwelling stations.

Use the method according to DIN 4708 to determine the required volume flow rate for residential buildings using the mandatory information on apartment type and the important tapping points of the dwelling(s).

Tip:

For decentralized stations you only have to define one apartment type. For centralized stations you can create multiple apartment types as needed.

For the determination of the required volume flow rate of non-residential buildings, use the method according to VDI 6003, in which the building type and the desired comfort level must also be specified, in addition to the tapping points.

When you confirm your input, the required volume flow rate is converted to tap rate, and applied in the Requirement potable water dialog.

Apartment types (DIN 4708)

In the table on the left, you determine the requirements index N.

Qty.

Indicates the number of apartments. The number of persons is automatically adjusted.

Apartment types

Defines the type of apartment. After clicking in a line, a standard apartment with 3.5 persons (average occupancy per apartment in Germany) is suggested first.

Rooms

Indicates the number of rooms. The number of persons is automatically adjusted.

Persons

If you adjust the number of apartments or rooms, the program will automatically adjust the number of persons. You can overwrite this number.

N

The requirement index of the standard apartment is N=1. The value is determined depending on the number of persons and the cumulative heat requirement of the tapping points.

∑N

Value of N multiplied by the number of apartments.

Relevant tapping point(s) in this apartment (DIN 4708)

In the table on the right, you set the tapping points of the apartment marked in the table on the left. If you specify multiple tapping points, it is assumed that they will operate simultaneously.

Qty.

Indicates the number of tapping point.

Tapping point

Indicates the name of tapping point.

l

Indicates the storage volume of the potable water heater for the relevant tapping point.

kWh

Indicates the heat requirement of the tapping point.

Determination of loading capacity/storage volume (DIN 4708)

Depending on the predefined requirement period, heat requirement, storage volume and loading capacity are determined and displayed. The cold water temperature originates from the calculation parameters of the configuration dialog. You define the hot water temperature in the component dialog of the potable water heater.

Demand (DIN 4708)

This area shows the determined values for the peak heat requirement WzB, the hourly heat requirement 1.0 and the period heat requirement W2TN.

Required volume flow rate (DIN 4708)

Displays the determined Required volume flow rate.

Building type and comfort levels (VDI 6003)

Specifies the building type and the comfort level.

Table of tapping points (VDI 6003)

Qty.

Specifies the quantity of tapping points.

Qty. defined

Specifies the number of tapping points defined in the model.

Tapping points

Specifies the name of tapping point.

Level 1-3 l/s

Specifies the volume flow of the respective comfort level.

Tapping temperature

Specifies the tapping temperature of the tapping point.

Requirement (VDI 6003)

Displays the values determined for the Required volume flow rate and Heat requirement.
