The parameter of an air duct component could not be clearly determined

Problem

When creating the parts list for the e-klimaX export, the message Required parameter X not clearly determined Value A = n is assumed. is displayed for an item.

Cause

The function e-klimaX export has found component parameters which are assumed to correspond to the searched parameters. However, since the designation of these parameters does not clearly correspond to the shared parameters, the assignment should be checked.

This message is returned for parts that have not been explicitly approved by LINEAR for e-klimaX export.

Solution

Note: Always match the component parameters with those in e-klimaX component parameters during post-processing to ensure error-free assignment! Before using the interface for production purposes, it is advisable to create a test project with various characteristic configurations for each type of part.

Procedure

  1. Select the component in the model and check the parameter names of the existing component parameters in the Revit properties window. Usually, these have unique designations that allow them to be assigned.
  2. Open the LINEAR Parameter Manager under Revit ribbon ➤ LINEAR tab ➤ Administration section ➤ Parameter Manager.
  3. Enter the name of the LINEAR parameter you are looking for, which corresponds to the existing component parameter, in the Search term field to search for it.
  4. In the row with the LINEAR parameter, click in the field of the Parameter Aliases column and click the button .
  5. Click Select parameter definition ... in the context menu to open the Select parameter definition dialog.
  6. Use the Search term field to find the component parameter you want to assign as an alias to the LINEAR parameter in the list.
  7. Select the parameter name and confirm the selection with OK.
    The selection is added to the Parameter Aliases column in the Parameter Manager dialog. The mapping of the parameter is finished.
  8. Exit the dialog by clicking OK.
  9. Call the e-klimaX export function again and check the corrected position.
