Details on Technical Data for Shut-off Valves

Information on the technical data dialog for shut-off valves.

Note:

The possibility to select special manufacturer components is not available in all versions of the program. Which manufacturers and components are available also depends on the installed and licensed product data sets.

You are here:

Project tabDisciplineAnalyse tabComponentsTechnical dataComponent

Name

Specifies the name of the component. You can modify the name. Clicking restores the default setting.

Design data

Displays the calculated values for Mass flow rate, the design mass flow rate and the Nominal design diameter.

Valve data

Select valve...: Opens the Select valve series dialog for selection of manufacturer specific shut-off valves. The range of available valves depends on the installed manufacturer data sets. Further valves can be read in via VDI3805 interface in valve preselection.

Reset: The Reset button resets the manually assigned armature to a neutral model.

Info...: Opens the dialog Information about this valve with further values and information stored in the data set.

Nominal diameter

The current nominal diameter of the valve is displayed here. Here, you may select a dimension from the drop-down list to which the valve will be set. The set nominal diameter will be used for the calculation. Select free in the drop-down list, a nominal diameter, is assigned based on the calculation results. The new assigned nominal diameter will be displayed the next time the dialog is opened.

fixed

Activated: The nominal diameter of the valve is not adjusted in the calculation.

Deactivated: If necessary the nominal diameter of the valve is adjusted during the calculation.

Zeta

Enables the specification of an additional pressure loss in the form of a zeta value.

cvs

Specifies the flow coefficient of the valve in opened state.

: Opens the kv value from pressure loss dialog, where you can calculate the kv value by inputting the pressure loss and the volume flow.

Valve pressure loss

Shows the pressure loss of the valve in the current discipline.
