The limitation of the MEP space is not correct

Problem

Some wall constructions in your model cause the MEP space boundaries to be created incorrectly.

Possible cause: faulty wall connections

If walls are not connected correctly, MEP space boundaries may not be created correctly due to the incorrect input data during detection.

In the following example, the south wall of the MEP space is not cleanly connected to the east exterior wall. Although the floor plan looks correct, the floor area of the MEP space forms a self-intersecting polygon. This case usually results in an incorrect detection with incorrect MEP space boundaries due to the incorrect input data.

Solutions

  • The remedy here is the correction of the wall situation in the lower right corner of the room by the architect. Usually it is enough to manually unfix the wall connection, move the end points and restore the connection correctly.
  • In many cases, a correction by drawing a MEP space separation line, which ensures a clean delineation of the room, also helps.
