Adapting Classification Systems

Shows step by step how to customize supplied classification systems.

Before you begin

You want to adapt a supplied classification system to your needs.

Navigate to:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the LINEAR installation directory: ..\CAD\RevitMain\Support\Classification.
  2. Copy all files of the classification system and the index file into the LINEAR installation directory: ..\CAD\RevitMain\User-Standards\Classification.
  3. Open the index file.
  4. Change the ID and the name of the classification system.
    Tip:

    We recommend you add a "My" to the ID and the name, so it is possible to continue to use the original system.

  5. Delete all the content in the index file that is unneeded.
  6. Save the index file.
  7. Open the file of the classification system in which you want to make the changes.
  8. Make the changes and save the file.
  9. Restart LINEAR CAD Solutions.

Results

You have now adapted the supplied classification system and it is available for use under the new name in the Classification table as System.
