Details on Ports on Bottom and Ports on Top

Information on the Ports on bottom and Ports on top tabs in the Tank dialog.

On the Ports on bottom and Ports on top tabs you define the ports that are attached to the cover or the bottom of the tank. Since the two tabs have essentially the same structure, they are described only once.

Enter the dimensions of the ports in the right part of the dialog. Which dimensions are to be used can be seen in the illustrations on the Picture tab. If you want to check the effects of an entry, switch to the Preview tab. Click the Refresh button after changing the settings.

Selection list Ports

If you have created ports, they appear in the list and can be selected and edited. If the list is empty, no fields for the ports data are displayed.

New port

Creates a new port that appears in the selection list. Then the data of the port can be entered.

Copy

Copies the currently selected port in the selection list.

Delete

Removes the currently selected port in the selection list.

Description

The description is stored with the tank data and is used to distinguish between several ports.

Nominal diameter

Select the nominal diameter of the port from the drop-down list.

From center [R]

Top view: Distance from the tank axis to the axis of the port.

From center [alpha]

Top view: Angle between the X axis of the tank and the axis of the port. The tank is viewed from the top. 0° corresponds to the position on the right, 270° corresponds to the position at the front.

From center [X], from center [Y]

Top view: The center can also be specified as distance X and distance Y. The distance is measured from the X axis to the axis of the port and from the Y axis to the axis of the port.

Winged flange [L]

Lateral view: The length of the port from the tank bottom to the end of the port.

Winged flange [L2]

Lateral view: The length of the port from the lowest point of the tank bottom to the end of the port.

Radial orientation

If the port is arranged eccentrically, you can choose whether the port should be aligned radially to the bottom or to the cover.
