Details on Technical Data for Roof Drains

Information on the component data dialog for roof drains and emergency roof drains in drainage systems.

The roof drain determines the flow rate in the drainage system by its parameters and performance data. A roof drain can be a normal roof drain or an emergency roof drain. The difference is in the assignment of the volume flow rates. The emergency roof drain is assigned the over-5-minutes-long rainfall and the normal roof drain is assigned the reference rainfall. Emergency roof drains are marked with a red overflow ring in the drawing to distinguish them.

The emergency overflow is used in the emergency siphonic drainage system wherever rainwater has to be discharged outside. The emergency overflow is a central component that may only be used in conjunction with emergency roof drains. If a normal roof drain should ever be connected to an emergency drain, this is considered an error.

Insert the roof drains into your drawing at your own discretion or according to dimensioning proposal by the assistant. Manufacturer drains do not have adjustable parameters. For general drains, important roof drain parameters can be edited.

Name

Specifies the name of the component. You can modify the name. Clicking restores the default setting.

Connected with roof area

Indicates to which roof area the drain is assigned.

Parameter and Output data

The Roof area part results as a dimensioning proposal of the component Roof area or Gutter. Modifications to the Roof area part or Design capacity of the roof outlet are made in the context with the other roof outlets. Manufacturer-specific data such as Zeta value, Connection nominal diameter, Max. drain power (...) cannot be changed for manufacturer drains.
