Considering Intermittent Heating Operation

Shows step-by-step how to include interruptedly or rarely heated rooms in the heat load calculation and how to make settings for them.

Before you begin

You have parts of your project that are intermittently or rarely heated and you would like to include this circumstance in the heat load calculation.

Navigate to:

Note:

Depending on the selection under Additional heat-up capacityAdditional heat-up capacity, certain settings at the respective selected structure level can be adjusted differently from the project level.

Procedure

  1. In the Additional heat-up capacity area, select the structure level at which you would like to manage intermittently or rarely heated rooms.
  2. Under Unheated interval, enter the period during which the relevant structural level is not heated.

With the Dutch calculation basis, the unheated interval is to be set only in case of calculation according to ISSO 53 (offices and mixed buildings).

  3. Enter the Reheating time in which the relevant structural level is to be heated up to standard temperature.
  4. Enter the Air exchange rate during the unheated period under Air exchange rate.

With the Dutch calculation basis, the air exchange rate is to be set only in case of calculation according to ISSO 53 (offices and mixed buildings).

  5. Under Temperature drop, enter the difference between the target and minimum temperature of the structural level during the subsidence phase.

With the Dutch calculation basis, the temperature drop is to be set only in the case of a calculation according to ISSO 51 (one-family, two-family and multi-family houses).

  6. If necessary, enter an individual value under Reheat factor.
  7. Activate the Free cooling option.

Results

The intermittent heating operation is set.
